Common name: hybrid manzanita
Family: Ericaceae
Leaf: upright, symmetrical, evergreen, rounded and waxy, sharp apical tip, grey to silver sage and bright glossy green. Emergent foliage can be quite lovely, oranges, corals, reds.
Flowers: from midwinter into spring, clusters of pink to white, urn-shaped flowers appear in profusion at branch tips and persist for weeks.
Fruit: Small rounded fruit follow and ripen by summer, often with a blush on one side, orange, brown, red, maroon
Habit: multi-stemmed evergreen scrubby groundcover; Form: mounding
Height: up to 3'
Culture: Hardy in USDA zones 6-11. Plant in full sun to part shade. Drought tolerant once established. Best in soils that are slightly acidic. Best in medium moisture and well drained soils.
Uses: works on steep slopes in sunny positions. Low shrub groundcover
