Leaf: shiny, obovate, 1" long, small, feel thick and stiff, alternate, undersides are lighter than the tops, new stmes can be red if in full sun
Flowers: terminal clusters of urn-shaped flowers, white to pink, blooming from May- June
Fruit: round, bright red to pink drupes
Habit: procumbent woody groundcover :Form: very low mounded
Height: up to 1'
Culture: Very cold tolerant. Plant in coarse, well to excessively well-drained soil in part sun/part shade. Does not tolerate moist or off-drained sites. Hardy to USDA zones 3-7. Susceptible to leaf spot and aphid gall in gardens. Does not establish super well.
Uses: goundcover, not great for erosion control, esp. steep slope.
