Common name: zen magnolia, parchment magnolia
Family: Magnoliaceae
Leaf: long, elliptic to lanceolate leaves with an acute tip. Deciduous
Flowers: blushed white with hints of pink, the large petals (flowers up to 4" across) "flopping" open all the way. Blooms in early spring, Feb., March- before the foliage.
Habit: multi-stemmed deciduous tree; Form: irregular upon habit, pyramidal
Height: 20-30'; Spread: 10-20'
Culture: Hardy in USDA zones 5-8. Plant in full sun, in average, moist, well-drained soils.
Uses: beautiful specimen planting.
